Campers answered
Let our team handle all the details—from planning the weekend's activities to providing meals—so you can focus on investing in your students and growing together as a group.
Not attending with a youth group, no problem! Register now as an individual camper, and we'll make sure you're part of a cabin with new friends and an awesome counselor.
Registration is at the Cedar Center from 6-7 PM on Friday. If a camper arrives later than 7 PM, please call 517-688-3783 and let us know ahead of time.
Youth Retreats will end on Sunday at 3 PM. If your camper will be picked up early, please notify the camp office at 517-688-3783 prior to your arrival.
While we like to keep a few surprises up our sleeves---here's a general idea of what you can expect during a weekend youth retreat at SBC:
Friday: Kick off the weekend by checking in and getting settled into the lodge. The energy builds as we gather for our first worship session, followed by evening activities, games, and some classic camp snacks to keep the fun going.
Saturday: This is our big day! Worship, powerful teaching from God’s Word, and time in small groups create space for reflection and connection. In between, you’ll dive into your favorite camp activities—whether that’s sports, creative challenges, or just soaking up the outdoors. And yes, we’ll keep you well-fed with delicious meals in the Cedar Center.
Sunday: We wrap up the weekend with a final chapel session and team-building moments that leave a lasting impact. Then it’s time to clean up, say goodbye, and head home full of memories and lessons to carry into your life.
Michigan weather can be unpredictable, swinging from warm to chilly. Pack clothing suited to the forecast—think long pants and rain boots or possibly shorts and sunglasses. With a mix of indoor and outdoor activities planned, we want every camper to feel comfortable and prepared! Please label your belongings!
Necessary medications to be collected by the health officer or your youth group leader.
Don't forget your bedding, such as a sleeping bag or linens for a standard twin bed, pillows. You'll need your necessary tolietries, including towels. And also bring your Bible, reading and writing materials.
Snack foods or candy (no food or drink is allowed in the lodge, other than what is provided by our staff).
No electronics, including games, ipods, cell phones. If you bring any of these things we’ll be happy to hold them until you leave.
Campers and leaders will stay in the lodge. Each lodge room have bunked beds and a restroom, plus we have a large meeting space in the center for our indoor group activities.
T-shirts, sweatshirts and other souvenir items will be available at our camp store, Bear Necessities, located in the Welcome Center. Plus you can visit the Trading Post during free time for snacks. Please do not send an excessive amount of money with your child. Hat prices begin at $15 and sweatshirt prices begin at $35.
