Family Camp 2010

Passing the Torch!
The great annual Southern Michigan Conference of the Free Methodist Church event known as “Family Camp,” this year will feature the theme, “Passing the Torch!”  Preachers in the evening services will be distinguished SMC retirees—former superintendents and senior pastors— sharing LESSONS LEARNED FROM A LIFETIME OF KNOWING AND SERVING THE LORD.  Harry Bonney, Mearl Bradley, Bill Cryderman, Earl Habecker, and Darold Hill will share out of their heads, hearts, and a combined nearly 300 years of combined ministry experience!  Pastors, please begin to announce this all star line up to your people.

Missionaries
Dan and Hope Owsley will be speaking the Monday and Tuesday morning missions hour.

The Owsleys, in their fifth term in Brazil, currently serve in São Paulo. Their chief assignment is leadership training. Dan also teaches at the Free Methodist seminary and acts as chaplain to the students. He and Hope contribute their time to the Vila Moraes Free Methodist Church where Dan serves as co-pastor. They continue to give support to church plants in the area and throughout Brazil. Hope teaches Sunday school and helps with International Child Care Ministries as needed. She also tutors part-time at the American school, helping students for whom English is a second language.

Dan and Dee Ann Snyder will speak the Wednesday and Thursday morning sessions.

Dan and Dee Ann Snyder began serving with Free Methodist World Missions in 1993, first in Rwanda, Africa, and then in Haiti. They served in Haiti from 1996 until 2005 when they returned to the U.S., but they continued to minister on short-term assignments in Haiti. The Snyders returned to Haiti full time in August 2008. Dan, a physician, coordinates medical work at Dessalines Hospital, and Dee Ann works in support staff areas.


Troy and Angela Peterson will speak on Friday morning.

Youth Programs
Child care is provided for all worship services and is a part of the weekday children’s program.

Nursery for children up to 4 years old is available Sunday mornings and each evening.  The nursery is in the annex room on White Field House and the children’s program is in the gym of the White Field House.  Please use the west entrance of the Field House for the children’s program and the east entrance for the nursery.

For children 4 years old - Grade 5, programs are available weekday mornings, evenings and Sunday mornings.  During the Sunday morning and evening services, children will attend the service with their parents and will be dismissed and trammed to their program.

Middle School and High School
Worship and Study
Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - Noon
Wednesday, 7 p.m.

Teen “Cook-out”  - Wednesday, July 14th – 5:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Pavilion (sponsored by Spring Arbor University)

Wednesday night youth “imported” to the big tent utilizing their musicians and speaker, after all, these are some of those we’re passing the torch on to, so let’s celebrate ‘em!  SAU’s “Wellspring” will be a featured part of this service.

Prayer Time
Morning prayer time will be held Monday through Friday mornings in the Annex at the Field House.

Family Camp Tea
Tuesday, July 13th – 3:00 p.m. in the Fieldhouse (sponsored by WMI)
All ages welcome - no registration needed – meet missionaries – browse SEED items for sale – light refreshments.  An offering for missions will be taken.  Hope Owsley, Missionary to Brazil, will be present to sign her book, Missionary Musings.
